Set against the majestic backdrop of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, the pageant gathers 35 of the nation’s most graceful contestants. On the evening of December 31st (the Central Square) will become a stage of elegance. These ambassadors of beauty do more than compete for a crown; they participate in community activities and tourism promotion, highlighting Sa Pa as a friendly and culturally rich destination. The event serves as a perfect prelude to the grand finale scheduled for early January 2026. A Sky Ablaze: New Year’s Countdown and Fireworks As night falls on the last day of the year, the atmosphere at Sapa center Square reaches a fever pitch. Starting from 11:00 PM, the New Year 2026 Countdown art program brings together famous artists and vibrant musical performances, warming up the chilly highland air. The climax occurs at the sacred moment of midnight. To welcome the first seconds of 2026, a brilliant low-altitude fireworks display will illuminate the sky for 15 minutes. The sight of colorful sparks reflecting off the mist and the silhouettes of French-colonial architecture creates a magical experience that locals and tourists alike will cherish forever. Welcoming the First Footprints of 2026 The celebration continues into the morning of January 1st, 2026, with the traditional Welcome Ceremony for the First Tourists. Held at the Sa Pa Ethnic Cultural Park, this warm reception honors the first visitors to “step foot” in the National Tourism Area in the New Year. Guests are greeted with traditional music, local specialties, and meaningful gifts from the town leadership.
