In order to create new, attractive and unique tourism products, exploiting the potential of cultural, historical and natural tourism. Lao Cai province organized a Famtrip program to survey and build heritage-connected tourism products in Lao Cai, Lai Chau and Ha Giang provinces from November 14-16, 2024.
Within the framework of the cooperation program of 8 expanded Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City, combined with the advice of French experts. Heritage Connection tourism products have been researched and shaped. In order to assess the potential and strengths of the product, as well as to receive comments from the authorities, tourism management agencies of localities, tourism service businesses… Lao Cai Department of Tourism organized a survey program to build and develop tourism products in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Lao Cai province; product “Connecting the heritage road” from Sin Suoi Ho (Lai Chau) through the Pavie ancient stone road – Bat Xat – Bac Ha (Lao Cai), Xin Man (Ha Giang).
The survey program has the participation of leaders of the Department of Tourism, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 3 provinces, leaders of local authorities of the districts, along with many reporters of newspapers, radio stations and representatives of domestic tourism service businesses.
The goal of organizing the survey program to build tourism products: Discover and connect cultural and natural heritage: The three provinces of Ha Giang, Lao Cai and Lai Chau are all famous for their ethnic cultural heritages and majestic natural landscapes. Famous for the ancient stone field of Sa Pa, the heritage of terraced fields, the ancient stone road of Pavie, the ancient stone field of Nam Dan, the Tien waterfall, the Gio pass, ethnic villages and pristine mountain and forest landscapes; Developing inter-provincial tourism: Connecting tourist destinations of the three provinces will help strengthen coordination, promote destinations and expand inter-provincial tourism routes, not only attracting domestic but also international tourists. This combination helps form rich tourism itineraries, from trekking, visiting relics to exploring ethnic cultures; Creating unique tourism products: Surveys will help identify unique tourism products suitable for each region, such as community tourism, eco-tourism, heritage discovery tourism. These products will be built to serve the diverse needs of tourists; Developing tourism infrastructure: To promote connectivity between provinces, improving transport infrastructure, accommodation facilities, and tourism services is important. Coordination between provinces will help optimize transport routes, making it easier for tourists to move from one province to another. Benefits of developing connected tourism: Economic growth: Connected tourism will stimulate the local economy, creating jobs for people, especially in ethnic minority communities; Preserving cultural heritage: Sustainable tourism development can help preserve and promote the value of cultural and natural heritage; Enhancing cultural exchange: Tourists from different places will have the opportunity to learn about the customs and culture of ethnic minorities in these localities.
At the end of the survey program, Lao Cai Department of Tourism organized a conference to introduce in detail the Heritage Connection tourism product, receiving comments from localities and businesses to perfect the product. After that, the representative Lao Cai Department of Tourism handed over this tourism product to localities for management and exploitation.
The survey and development of tourism products connecting heritage between Ha Giang, Lao Cai and Lai Chau is an important step, not only helping to develop tourism but also preserving the cultural values, traditional history and natural resources of the localities./.
