Lao Cai – An Ideal For Travelling In The New Year
Spring is the season of festivals, therefore, there are many festivals happening in this time. Thurifying at the beginning of the year is to pray to their family and relatives for blessings and happiness which becomes a habit in the spirit life of Vietnamese.
On the way to Lao Cai, you can visit some famous temple such as Bao Ha temple, Thuong temple, Doi Co temple… and also enjoy the beauty surounding. These are the supernatural temples in this region and also the familiar destinations of vietnamese whenever they go for thurifying.
Bao Ha temple
Bao Ha temple is located in Bao Ha commune, Bao Yen district where worshipping General Hoang Bay at the end of Le dynasty, name Canh Hung (1740-1786). People consider him as “Patriotic spirit” a Hero of highland who defeated over the northen invader for peace. When he died, people built a temple for adoring him on a Forbidden Mount facing to the Red river, “ which leans against the mount and steps on the river for the peace and prosperity of the frontier region. After visiting Bao Ha temple, you will continue to the next temple which is Thuong in Lao Cai city… Thuong temple is only 500m from the border-gate to the north-est which is worshipping for General Tran Hung Dao, one of ten General in the world, in 1257 he leaded Dai Viet army to defend Lao Cai. Beside Thuong temple, there are many famous temple such as: Doi Co, Mau, Co Tan An…
Cable car to Fansipan mountainIn the early year, combinning thurifying and travelling is a perfect itinerary. You can go to Bac Ha for enjoying the beauty of plum garden, sipping a cup of corn alcohol, participating in traditional festivals of highland ethnic minorities as: Gaux Taos, Trung Do, Bac Ha or contemplating the clouds drifting and bobbing, conquering Fansipan peak by cable car or visiting villages for exploring the daily life and custom of hilltrible people.
