On April 14, 2025, the People’s Committee of Lao Cai Province issued Decision No. 1136/QD-UBND officially recognizing the Bac Ha Fruit and Vegetable Research and Production Station as an official tourist site. This marks an important step in the development of agricultural tourism in connection with the research and preservation of the region’s unique highland crop varieties.
The station is located in Na Kim residential group, Bac Ha Town, Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province, about 1 km from the town center. Situated at an altitude of 960 meters above sea level, the station spans a total area of 13.25 hectares, with 7 hectares dedicated to fruit orchards. Its prime location at the foot of Co Tien Mountain and the cool climate year-round provide ideal conditions for growing temperate crops such as Tam Hoa plums, VH6 pears, and early-ripening French peaches.
