Establishing A Safe Tourism Corridor Between Hanoi And Localities

In the afternoon of December 17, the Hanoi People’s Committee held a conference to connect tourism between Hanoi and localities with the theme “Establish a safe tourism corridor in Hanoi and localities”.

Over two years, the Covid-19 pandemic has many negative impacts on the tourism industry. Many businesses had to shut down, hotels and accommodation facilities had to close.

The stagnation of tourism activities has led to a decrease in tourism revenue. Although now, the whole country has entered the phase of both anti-epidemic and economic recovery, but the tourism industry still faces many difficulties.

To revive tourism, Hanoi sets a target that in the period of 2022-2023, it will focus on the domestic tourist; to gradually recover the international tourist, focusing on close and key markets such as Southeast Asia, Korea, and Japan, and gradually attract tourists in North America, EU and new markets such as: Australia, India.

Delegates from 12 provinces spoke at the conference

The roadmap to restore tourism in the capital is carried out in two phases: Phase 1, from the first quarter to the second quarter of 2022, will focus on welcoming domestic tourists in association with safe tourism models and preparing conditions for international arrivals.

Phase 2, from the third quarter of 2022, is expected to restore all tourism activities and products in the city, regardless of size and deploy to welcome international guests.

In 2022, Hanoi strives to receive 9-10 million visitors, of which domestic visitors reach from 7.8-8 million, international visitors from 1.2-2 million, total revenue from tourists more than 27,000 billion.

The city also proposed seven key solutions: ensuring safety at destinations and for tourists; building diversified, unique and attractive tourism products; strengthen advertising and tourism promotion activities…

However, in order to restore tourism, the safety factor must come first, ensuring the harmony between epidemic prevention and control with creating the most favorable conditions for the movement and use of services.

At the Conference, the delegates proposed: To do this, it is necessary to strengthen the connection between the state management agencies in charge of tourism in the localities with tourism organizations, associations, and destinations.

Tourism businesses to continue developing and renewing tourism products, exploiting cultural values ​​of heritages and tourist attractions, training and early rehabilitation of human resources.

Along with the recovery of domestic tourism is towards gradually opening international tourism to Hanoi and other localities in the near future.

At the conference, representatives of the tourism industry of provinces and cities such as Thanh Hoa, Dien Bien… discussed measures to create a green tourism corridor between Hanoi and other localities.

Cooperation agreement signing ceremony between 12 provinces

Within the framework of the Conference, a signing ceremony for cooperation in safe tourism development took place between state management agencies in charge of tourism in the new normal state of 12 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang.
